Eyeglass World (1988) and The LASIK Vision Institute (1999) were previously owned and operated under the care of three brothers.   However, in November 24, 2003, Summit Partners, a leading global private equity firm with $5 billion under management, acquired a majority interest in Eyeglass World and The LASIK Vision Institute, LLC, both of Lake Worth, Florida. 

Under the direction of new management, Eyeglass World and The LASIK Vision Institute, are one of the preferred providers in eyewear, eye care and laser vision correction.

Eyeglass World is a nationwide operator of retail vision stores and The LASIK Vision Institute is one of the country’s largest providers of laser surgery services. Both companies are profitable and growing rapidly.

The companies will be operated by Vision Care Holdings, a new holding company owned by Summit Partners, the founders of Eyeglass World and The LASIK Vision Institute, and senior management.
